What is Soul Retrieval?
Soul retrieval is commonly described as the process in which one
“travels back to past lives to retrieve a soul fragment one has ‘lost’ in that life.”
The process is typically facilitated by someone with abilities within the alternative field. This can be a clairvoyant, shaman, or similar.
The purpose of a soul retrieval is to find, create awareness around, and reintegrate soul fragments that are still “stuck” in the past life.
There can be many reasons why parts of one’s energy may be tied to past lives, but it typically involves strong emotional or traumatic experiences in that past life.
When the process of a soul retrieval is carried out correctly, it can have a significantly positive impact on the person’s life. One may experience progress within areas previously perceived as difficult – areas in which one may have felt blocked or met great resistance.
In practice, this may be experienced as increased energy, emotional healing, renewed creativity, clarity, and the ability to stand stronger in life.
What one experiences depends on the underlying theme one chooses to work with or comes into contact with.
Can you lose parts of your soul?
I’m not really fond of the word “soul retrieval,” as it implies that one has lost part of their soul. I don’t believe that is entirely correct. I see it more as the soul being tied to or affected in an unfavorable way by one or more past lives.
So by helping the person reintegrate this energy in an appropriate way, great positive change can be created. This happens by creating awareness, energetically releasing, and helping the person integrate the past life. It can also be called working with blockages from past lives.
Ways to Work with Soul Retrieval

When I perform Soul Retrieval, I have two different approaches one can choose from:
1) If you have a “Specific Area” you want to work with.
This can be an area where you feel blocked or encounter particular resistance. It can be any area of life, but I often encounter themes such as “a desire for more success in working with one’s life purpose,” “love,” “money,” and “not daring to step into one’s power.” But I have also experienced that being overweight can have its roots in past lives.
So many things can potentially have roots in past lives. You are welcome to contact me if you want to discuss whether a specific challenge may have a root in a past life.
2) The “Open Approach”
You can also choose the open approach and simply allow what needs to be looked at to come through.
If you choose this approach, what is most relevant and beneficial for the person to work with will come through. This can also be a very good approach, with great potential for personal development, progress, and growth.
Options 1) and 2) will in many cases be the same, since there is normally a reason why the person has been encouraged to look at the specific theme they bring forward.
How does a soul retrieval take place?
To give insight into how a soul retrieval works, I will here go through a soul retrieval from start to finish. This way, you can gain insight into the process and its different phases.
Example of a Soul Retrieval
The woman in this example chose approach 2), I was allowed to look at what would be most relevant and beneficial for her to work with at this time.
The Medicine Woman from the Past Life

I was brought back to a life where she had been a medicine woman or herbalist. She had enjoyed working with her herbs and helping people through them. Life was good.
However, an unfortunate event had occurred where she accidentally mixed up some herbs and thereby unintentionally caused a death.
As a result, she was cast out of the village and left to live alone in the forest, which was a very lonely existence.
Impact on Her Current Life
When I asked how this affected her current life, I saw an older, sad, and sorrowful woman shaking her head while looking down. I was told that the experience had left a deep imprint on her (in that life and in her soul).
I then asked how it affected her in her current life, and the answer was:
“Anxiety, afraid of doing something wrong.”
The Energetic Clearing – The Actual Soul Retrieval
I then had a conversation with the old woman (the soul fragment), where I made her aware that I fully understood her, but that she had not acted out of bad intentions. And that it is human to make mistakes. That is life.
I then asked her if she was ready to let go and set my client free. She was. I then saw the old woman dissolve in a small “puff” vanishing into small shining fragments. Following, I did a bit of healing on the situation.
If the Soul Does Not Wish to Let Go
I experience many soul retrievals where the person’s soul is NOT ready to let go. In these situations, I need to have a conversation with the soul fragment about why.
I often hear that the soul does not want the same thing to happen again and therefore—very naturally—does everything in its power to avoid a similar situation.
In the example above, this could be by preventing the person from working with herbs – because the soul has a very negative experience connected to this. So if the person tries to work with herbs, the soul resists. In other words, a blockage at the soul level.
This is naturally not beneficial if, in this life, the person’s life purpose is to work with herbs.
When I have discovered why a soul does not want to let go, I ask what is needed in order for it to let go.
This varies greatly. Sometimes it is enough for me to explain how the situation is safer in today’s society. Other times, the soul wants me to ask the client to promise things or do things before the soul fragment agrees to let go.
It is my task to find out what is needed for the soul fragment to release – allowing the person to achieve change in their life.
In the above session, however, the soul fragment was ready to let go immediately, and the blockage manifested more as anxiety that prevented her from freely carrying out her life purpose.
At the end of the session, I asked if there was anything more I should know. The answer was: “Tell xxx that she is doing well.” Implicit in this was “in her work within the alternative field today.”
Integration and Outcome of the Soul Retrieval

The woman and I later had a video call, during which I shared what I had experienced during the session and how I had energetically freed her from the impact of her past life.
I was, of course, curious to know if she could relate this to her current life. She very much could. In her alternative practice, she worked specifically with helping people through “plant medicine.” But she was actually very anxious about harming people in this work.
Through the session, we found the root of this anxiety, and by addressing the past life, she received help to let it go.
How Is the Change Facilitated?
In the above session, the energetic work I did was enough to help the person. That, combined with the client becoming aware of their past life, created the change.
In other situations, where the soul may have more resistance to letting go, more is needed. In those situations, I am often given a series of tools and good advice on how the person can support the change in their life.
Here, I thus facilitate both the energetic release and provide the client with tools and good advice on how they can support the creation of the desired change.
I often explain it as a fish that has been used to swimming around in a small aquarium. If that aquarium is lowered into a larger tank (life without blockages) and the glass of the aquarium is removed (blockages removed), the fish will initially still swim within the boundaries of the aquarium (the boundaries of the person’s old life).
Through the tools, advice, affirmations, etc. received, I help the person more quickly free themselves from the limitations and blockages from the past life (and swim freely).
Thus, a significant part of my client work – based on the soul retrieval – is helping the person become free of the limitations of the past life. Something I often find other practitioners overlook.
In other words, the energetic release is the core work. The follow-up ensures that the client receives the full benefit of the session. I usually describe it as giving my clients “homework”—that is, using and implementing the advice and tools they receive during the session.

A session currently costs USD 69 and involves about 3 hours of work on my part.
